Designed by Marcello Nizzoli in 1949. The Illinois Institute of Technology voted it the best-designed product of the previous hundred years in 1959; MoMA holds one. 27×37×8cm, 3.7kg, portable for its decade. The character set has no 0 or 1; you type O and l instead. The margin release doubles as paragraph indent. Pasolini, Plath, Didion, Cohen all wrote on the same machine.
